Tomorrow, April 18 at 1 PM EDT, USAID will be hosting a webinar on the Defense Base Act for USAID Contractors.
During the webinar you will get an overview of DBA Insurance, understand who is eligible for it, and understand the benefits of it. Additionally, time will be set aside to help answer your DBA related questions.
DBA insurance is worker’s compensation coverage for employees in the event they are injured while working on a contract financed by the U. S. Government performed outside the United States. DBA coverage also pays benefits to dependents of employees in the event that an employee is killed as a direct result of the employee’s employment under a contract financed by the U.S. Government. DBA coverage is required by statute (see 42 U.S.C. 1651, et seq.) for employees of contractors and subcontractors, regardless of the duration of their assignment. Subcontractors under USAID-financed contracts must also obtain coverage. USAID contractors and subcontractors must possess DBA coverage before their employees arrive in country and commence work on the contract.
